The developers behind Earth 2 have announced its planned blockchain deployment using the Polygon framework to place its digital properties on-chain and onto the public Ethereum ecosystem. The Polygon framework is based on Ethereum.
This also means that Earth2 will have its own cryptocurrency. Whether Essence will be that currency is still uncertain, though we deem it likely to happen.
Other in-game digital items such as tiles, jewels, and ressources are also expected to move to the blockchain, allowing for a safer, quicker and more accurate system of transaction. This process will also give users direct, on-chain, ownership of their digital assets and the ability to buy, sell, and trade them without authorization from a third party.
In other words, decentralisation is a key element in Earth2’s future development.
